Just recently I was shown these remixes and let me tell you, they are something else. They give you the smooth, slick beats of both Wu-Tang and Biggie remixed with a softer sound. I  definitely recommend that you check it out, here are the links for both albums! Enjoy.

500 Days of Summer

Though the title is quite deceiving, this is not a movie about summer – not in the traditional sense of the word anyways. Now, I started watching this movie in a semi-embarrassed way, even though I was alone while watching it. I had thought it was going to be a lame chick flick, but in the end, I was proven to be quite wrong.

The film is full of quirky humor, believable characters, a good plot, love, remorse, sadness, happiness – the whole 9 yards! The way it was shot was also extremely creative and this was probably one of the best movies of 2009.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend you do so ASAP. Here’s one of my favorite scenes from the movie for you guys to scope out!

Only 69 Days of Winter left now.

Top 100 Comic Book Villains

“As of 2009, comic books have been with us for 75 years. In that span, countless heroes have arisen and captivated generations of readers with their courageous exploits. But a hero is nothing without a good villain. What’s the point of being able to leap tall buildings in a single bound unless there’s someone to test your mettle?

We’ve combed through the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Modern Age to gather the best of the worst for our Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time. Who will reign supreme?”

Taken from IGN. Pretty badass post, though I think they should have made the list easier to navigate!

Top 5 Female Indie Artists

For the past year I’ve been listening to a variet of female indie artists and have fallen in love with their music. Something about the way their voices mesh with the instruments used results in something truly spectacular. Many of their songs are so captivating that it’s almost like watching a film, bringing out a range of emotions and feeling through their lyrics. In no particular order, here are 5 of my favorite female indie artists.

1. Cat Power

2. Sarah Harmer

3. Florence and the Machine

4. Feist

5. Regina Spektor

Take a listen, I hope you find something you like. Feel free to post your favorite artists!

Powerful Documentary – “Last Minutes with Oden”

People often say that a picture can say a thousand words and this video easily says millions. Though the video is only a mere 6 minutes long, I can guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised at how powerful the piece is. Eliot Rausch, the director of this piece did an excellent job at portraying the emotion and experiences that are shown throughout the video and the end result is something truly magnificent. This is a very touching story, so take 6 minutes to watch it and think about what so many people take for granted these days.

Thank You Jason Wood for allowing us this moment.

Vancouver Canucks Mysteries

Happy Wednesday all!

Today my topic of choice is the one and only, Vancouver Canucks. How is it that the Canucks are so inconsistent that they can beat the best team in the league one night and lose to one of the worst the next game? It boggles me that they can do this instead of just playing well every single game. I don’t know what it is but this is happening way too much this season! Maybe it’s the way that Bieksa skates with an air of cockiness and proceeds to turn it over or maybe it’s because Mathieu Schneider is too worried about his pearly whites getting damaged to step up on his man and take him out of the play. Whatever it is, it will have to change soon if we want to make the playoffs!

Though everyone rags on the Canucks and says they’re the worst team after they lose one game, I still have my faith in them. If you watch the way the Sedins play together and the saves Luongo makes, it will make you feel things you have never felt before. Definitely Olympic starting material saves.

Go Canucks go!

Finally, a little video from way back when. Still funny as hell.
